Have a BCM50 set to ftp push the CDR data which is set to SL-1 format.
Looking at the records for incoming transferred calls there is no duration listed against the S,X or E records.
Is this normal or am I missing a patch?

Does not sound normal - the SL1 format is not exactly the same as you would expect from a Meridian X11 (as an example)..

Try setting the format to Norstar and see if the duration field changes - this may not take effect until the next day.

The Norstar format is far better to deal with as the detail is far more comprehensive than the SL1. ie ring times, DNIS info etc

Regards Paul

Thanks Paul, unfortunately my call accounting system does not handle the Norstar output. Looking at the records again it looks like we can use the timestamp to work out the durations but only to the minute as no second stamp.

We are a Call Accounting dealer and we discarded using the SL1 format on BCM years ago, I seem to recall that you may well be correct - the duration is mins and no seconds.

What ever the result, the BCM SL1 format is considerably cut down from a normal SL1 record.

Can you get a Norstar format for your current system?

Start/End Records need to be married together to get the CDR using SL-1 format. This gives you 1 minute rounding. THis is the only thing that can be done using this kind of record format.

You can also use Norstar format that gives you to the second duration for all calls.

RSI handles both ( I use and recommend their products extensively. They are a Nortel Developer Partner.

You can also try Call Accounting Mate. It is much cheaper but is more of a Do-it-Yourself installation.

I recommend both because I have personally used both and most of my customers seem to have few problems.
