Hello,

I have a BCM400 4.0.

I am trying to install Element Manager on a new computer, which is okay, but when I try to connect to the BCM it fails to download a cartridge file. The file in question is BCM200.5.19.0.

On the computer that can currently connect to the BCM with no problems, I cannot find that file in "C:\Program Files\Nortel\Business Element Manager\BusinessElementManager\bin\registry\cartridges" or any other directory.

Does anyone know of somewhere that this file can be downloaded or if you have it, can we arrange to send it via email or something?

Thank you!

Normally the file is downloaded via the Element Manager tool as it takes it from the BCM system that you are accessing. If you are on a connection that is blocking the file download, then you will have problems.

All you need to do is to close down Element Manager and then copy the zip file that I have attached into the cartridge folder that you have found. Don't unzip it!.

Load up the Element Manager tool and try to connect again. It should now be OK.

Awesome, thank you so much! I have been trying to get this to work and looking for that file for a while now.

This BCM is on its last legs, unfortunately.

What is odd, is that it will only connect correctly if I run Element Manager as admin. Running it under any other privileges, it will keep trying to download the file.

But thank you again!

I think the problem is because you are using the older Nortel version of Element Manager. I use the Avaya one which is available at the link below.

Contact me via the link if you need any more help. The BCM 400 should still be good for a while yet as long as you get regular backups and that the last lot of patches were applied.

Old or no java could also prevent downloading cartridges.
