Is there a way to read the backup files that have been backuped up via FTP from a BCM v3.7?

We have a bcm that they say that the hard drive is bad. So nortel is saying that once we receive the new hard drive that we cannot restore from backup because a chance that the backup is corrupt. So now we are going to have to build the system from scratch. Does all of this sound right?

The programming for the sets is all stored on your MSC card, not on the hard drive. Perhaps if you did a back-up of telephony only, then pulled the drive. This way you would have to only program the voicemail/apps. Remember though if you are doing a telephony only restore, you will probably have to pull all your MBM's out (powerdown, pull MBM's out, power on, restore, power down, reinsert MBM's), unless you are all patched up.

If your whole system is corrupt then you might have to start over completely.
