I have a BCM 400 3.6 and I am able to make the soft phone work on my internal network but I am trying to make an extension work from my home office. I have a software vpn client that I connect to my office network and I can ping and see all of my servers and local pc's in the office except the bcm. I have tried the IP address like http//10.10.10.10:6800 to get to the bcm to download the softphone software but can't get access. I am using a sonicwall firewall and I opened up all ports just to try and still didn't work. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with certificates because when I'm on the local network at the office it does load a certificate each time I log in. I guess I have a few questions does the BCM have to be on my company domain? What else could cause this? Any ideas would be much appreciated. I can create a hardware vpn tunnel with a router at each end but I'm trying to avoid that expense for multiple remote people.
Thanks
Mr Brent
