Is there anyway to administer a BCM (35x or any ) from a telephone at all? (similar to how the MICS/CICS is administered)

Thanks

It is supported on the BCM50 and other BCMs from Rel4

Nortel will not talk about it. There are things that you may change there but they do not actually change in the system. This has been known to create problems. I do not recommend doing this. If you want to use telset upgrade to 4.0 and have at it.

We have been using telsets to program BCM 3.5 and up for quite some time with no major issue (won't allow time change though). There are a plethora of things you aren't able to config, but for basic programming (lines, DN's) the telset is just fine.

You can access the BCM using feature **system (797836)

Why would anyone whan to use a phone to do programming, when there is a perfectly good IE interface you could use.

The simple answer is yes:

F**266344 > userID is: 738662 > password is whatever you've set it to in the Element manager

To set password in element manager:

Connect, go to
Configuration
>Adminstrator access
> Accounts and Privileges
>Change the password in "telset password" i.e. "266344"

hope this helps

He is not talking about the 4.0. You can't do it that way in the 3.x.

Is the reason your using the phone, because you don't know how to use the BCM Manager though IE?
