BCM 50

I have installed a DTM (T1 card) in an expansion module of a BCM 50. I have also installed the exp port keycode and it is showing up under registered keycodes. All the lights on the card flash all the time. Just like after the system has been rebooted. All phones work, 4 digit dialing works. Just no DTM

I am in Houston and the BCM is in Norway so I cant see it but have somebody onsite as my pair of eyes

When BCM50 first came out, they had lots of problems. DTMs had been made for a while, but Expansion Cabinets were new. Hence, the high numbers of out-of-box failures.

excuse me! sory for interrupting ur discussions! im new with the BCM, i have a BCM50,i have little knowldge about it and i would like to practice. could anybody tell me were to get any notes about installation and stuffs like that? thank you in advance..

You should start your own thread...but for the documentation you can get it directly from the bcm.

Have you enabled the DTM in resources?
Also, not sure about Norway, but in the UK the T1 circuit
can either be Euro ISDN30 or DASS2. Both work in similar
ways but have to be set in the programming.
I would assume that Norway needs to be Euro

It is enabled, or should I say, it reads "enabling"...
It is set to PRI. I have done some research on the web and everything reads that the Europian T1 (E1) is a PRI. I was a little surprised by that. I will check on the ISDN30 or DASS2. But, so far, it doesn't matter what setting I set it to, all lights always flash.

Tele Resources
Module type - in the UK there are DTM PRI, DTM DPNSS and
DTM DASS - unlikely that it's DPNSS or DASS in Norway.
Set clock source to Primary External & provision lines
Other than that, it's more likely to be what the other guys suggested

Sorry to keep bringing this up. So the way I read this is, I should set the DTM as PRI. Which is the way it is set. But, I will wait fro final word from the local vendor in Norway. When I was there, I tried to talk to Telenor, the AT&T of Norway, and it was just too much of a language barrier.

UPDATE
What the local vendor said he did...Replaced the cable between the BCM 50 and Expansion.

After that I cold started telephony services to set it up as "Norway" instead of "North America" to give me the E1 options.

For the options, yes. For it being able to see the card, no. It was a bad expansion cable.
