I have a BCM 50. When callers call into the system via a cell phone the BCM won't recognize the tones. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

After doing a lot of trouble shooting I finally fixed the problem myself.

If anyone is having a problem with a BCM50 not recognizing DMTF when calling into voice mail with a cell phone try this.

First do Feature 985 to get your first VM port. Then in element manager go to Telephony - Sets - Active Application DN's. Then high light your first voice mail port. Click on Capabilities and Preferences then in the bottom right of your screen look for "Receive Short Tones" and check the box. Do this for all ports. It fixed my problem.

I never thought of this..! Could it be that simple? I'm wondering if the Nortel Patch for this issue was in fact only modifying that value for all VM ports.

Have a star!

If all else fails try path BCM050.R300.SU.System-115 and Desktup-116.

Wow!! nice fix. I was having this problem alot lately, but it seemed like the common factor most cases was ATT Cingular cell phones. You should put that fix in the facts section of the BCM room. I think it would be helpful for alot of people. My problems were with zeros and star mostly. Nice!!!!

I've tried to do the same thing, but is not working.

I've loaded the latest patches from december and it has not worked.

Am I missing something?? I have Rls. 3.0 on my BCM50.

Thank you
