I have a customer with and older BCM 50 with 2.9 we are having problem with intermittent modem tone when and
inbound call is answer. I was told by the DT provider that it is the caller id being sent to the system. Another tech told me that there was a patch for this and that nortel has release 3.0 upgrade with all the patches dose anyone have access to this is there a link are do you have to be register with nortel to get the free update (nortel give nothing away) or do you know which patch I need to fix this and where to get it
thanks

Clid? That's only a really short burst between the first and second rings. Are you receiving the clid when you take the call? If so, that's not it.

As for the upgrade, you might want to post in the BCM forum.

That's kind of what I'm getting at. We need a little more clarification. If they're answering an inbound call, and hearing CNG tones, then it's not a problem with your phone system.

You could write down the clid info, and fax them a note saying- check your speed dials. You're faxing to our main number.
