Can anyone recommend a reliable repair service for a BCM 50 that will not reboot on a 2nd level restart. I think the drive may be bad unless you might have any other suggestions. I tried a Level 1 and it kept rebooting and then I tried a Level 2 but could not even get it to respond.

What release is the BCM 50 system?. It's best if you just change out the hard disk or reimage the existing one, assuming that the disk is OK.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

The drive is likely bad. To "recover" your BCM50, put in a drive with a functional BCM50 image. The system will first go through the L2 (or L1) reset that is currently pending and then resume normal operation.

Get a good backup if you have access to the system. Then restore it after a new HDD and patches.

Yes I have a back up of the HD. Do I just get any HDD or one from another BCM?

no I don't have an image. Is there a resource I can buy the drive from then just put it in and reload the software. unfortunately I just don't have the time available to spend doing all of this I would rather just buy a drive and reload the backup

BTW is it possible to move away from a traditional HDD with moving parts and install the new drives that only use memory and no motors? Maybe this will prevent failure in the future?
