My client has a new BCM50 with the new software version. My question is: my client is going to convert his existing EaFlex TDM PRI to a new 150M EaFlex with BIB PRI. Is there any programming needed on the BCM 50? If so what do I need to do?
Thanks

Going from one PRI to a different PRI may not need any changes if both are using the same signalling, clock protocols, and number of digits delivered.

I have no idea what EaFlex BIB is or what it might stand for but I'm just going to make the most obvious assumption that you are going from traditional PRI to a SIP over PRI adapter.

Likely no changes required, but verify they are not switching protocol on you. Most of the time they can configure the new adapter with the same protocol, clocking source, and digit delivery as the old service. At that point the BCM wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Just unplug the RJ45 from the old T1 CSU jack and plug into the new adapter.

If you do end up having to reprogram the PRI make a settings backup prior to making any changes. Make a note of any Routes, destination digits, and what pools the old PRI channels were assigned to in case they need to be rebuilt.

Make a note of everything in Resources->Telephony Resources->DTM-PRI
Make note of the line numbers

Check the lines in Telephony->Lines->Active physical lines
Check what Pool:Bloc they have been assigned to.

Make a note of everything in Telephony->Dialing Plan->Routing
Check your destination codes, the route, and digits absorbed
Check the Routes, any external numbers prepended, the pool and DN type the route is assigned to.

I think that about rounds out the things to check when changing a PRI.

For troubleshooting use BCM monitor. On the Resources-Telephony resources screen you will see the slot number your PRI is on. In BCM monitor open up the UIP tab and change to that bus. Usually if the PRI is in slot 4 it's bus 40. Slot 2 is 20, etc. Old BCM releases may just use the single digit here it's not always clear. But you can just enable PRI mode to see signalling messages as they go through. It has a default timeout of 15 minutes as I suppose there is some temp folder that would fill up if you left it running all the time.
