I’m trying to put my BCM 50 on the network. I have a straight through cable plugged in Lan port 1 of the BCM to a Cisco 2960 switch. All IP addressing is correct I can’t ping my default gateway through element manger. Although I can set my laptop IP the same as the BCM and hook up to the straight through cable and ping the gateway. I have also checked to make sure that my switch port on the Cisco switch is auto sensing. I just do not know what the problem is could someone please help me.

First can you put the BCM in the switch and the PC on the switch and connect to the BCM just thru the switch. And on the BCM 50 it also auto senses the cable plus you do not have to reboot after an IP address change that was with the old NT systems. Can you ping the address of the BCM. Also try connecting straight to the LAn port of the BCM with your PC and put your PC on manual IP adress one off of the BCM adress.

did you build a route in the routing table tab in telephony resources IP trunks example dest digits ip adress of the other bcm and gateway bcm and a dialing plan with dest. codes and routes? if you did then it could be a settings in the way you have the ip trunks set up check all setting in telephony resources ip trunking

When you say plugged in "Lan Port 1" you mean on the second port from the left?

Thanks for all the help.Changed cable to a crossover and everything worked fine then.
