BCM 50 locked up

I have a BCM 50 3.0 customer. System would accept incoming calls, no outgoing calls would go out. We would just get dead air. If we put someone on hold, we would hear a constant steady on hold tone (instead of the hold tone every few seconds). Autoattendant would answer calls but the voicemail would never pickup for an extension. Rebooted system and it all came back ok.

Is this a symptom of something going bad (HDD)?

could be, if you have a current backup, then i would go into EM and reboot the system....
