My bcm 50 Sometimes shows caller id, and sometimes doesn't. It's roughly 50/50 of the time. I've tried taking caller id off the lines in the system restarting the system then reprogramming caller I'd on the lines but has the same problem. Any clues?
If they're analog, you have to let the call ring twice before answering. CLID info is sent in during the quiet period between the first and second ring.
If it's PRI, have a look at the monitor when a call is active and make sure your provider is sending you the info.
Their analog, I always wait till caller id comes up (which is btw 1-2 ring like you stated) however I let it ring atleast 3timed when caller I'd doesn't come up.
Are you sure the caller isn't blocking their ID? Lots of places set their sysems up so their CLID doesn't go out and a lot of cell phones don't send their CLID either. Then there are the people who block it on a call-by-call basis using *XX from home.
Fact of the matter is, if it gets sent to you, you will display it. It's important to look at the monitor when the call is up. If the info is there and it;s not being displayed, that's another problem.
I am having the same problem on BCM400 and still haven't figured out the source of the problem. Is it doing it on all the sets/lines?. It could be the GATM that is acting up. try to change the GATM and see if it fixes the problem.
I have been having a similar problem in a TAXI company saying they have intermittent caller dislay ID not triggering there computer displays with the incoming calling number.
They also have 4 analogue lines, BCM50 rel3 fully patched
Just to let you know the Lastest BCM50 REL3 core patch released feb 2010 has a fix for the intermittent caller ID not displaying on Analogue Lines.
BCM50 R300.CORE-TELEPHONY-DSP-215
Intermittent Caller ID information is not presented to the designation set for incoming calls over analogue lines.
