I know that the base BCM 50 cabinet can be configured for 4 CO X 12 Digital X 2 or 4 analog port X 38 IP phone. I have an application (new site) that requires 8 CO X 26 Digital X 0 IP phone with Voicemail but have no idea what extra hardware / seats are needed. The bigger picture is I have an existing MICS configured T-1 X 32 digital x 8 analog w/ VM and ACD which I need to migrate to VOIP platform and add a new office with the above mentioned config. There is an existing MPLS network in place for the “IP” portion. I need to know what BCM 50 hardware / seat configuration for each site. If the BCM 200 or 400 is viable, that will work as well. My understanding is that the 200 and 400 are being phased out and the 50 is the latest and greatest (I could be wrong)

Get the following:

New Site:
1ea 8 seat BCM50 Digital Set Licensing
1ea 4 seat BCM50 Digital Set Licensing
1ea BCM50 Expansion License
1ea 8x16 COMBO CARD (8 C.O. and 16 station)
1ea 16 seat Voice Messaging License
1ea 8 seat Voice Messaging License
1ea 4 seat Voice Messaging License
1ea 4 Port VoIP Gateway
1ea MCDN Licensing
26ea T7316e Digital Telephones

Replace the Norstar with:
1ea BCM450 (replacement for the BCM400)
1ea DTM (T1) Card (no need for PRI licensing)
1ea GASM (8 port analog module)
1ea 4 Port VoIP Gateway
1ea MCDN Licensing
1ea DSM-32 (32 Digital Station)
1ea 32 seat Voice Messaging License
Talk to the person you are ordering regarding licensing for the Call Center (BCM ACD), ie: Number of Skillsets/Agents

Excellent! The exact information I was looking for.

Does the BCM50 Expansion License completely open up the 8X16 combo card or do I need to purchase seats for those CO/Stations? Also, what is the max config on the BCM 50 for CO and digital stations?

Ty

The BCM50 Expansion License only allows for adding an MBM (Media Bay Module) it does not license trunks or stations, and the 8x16 is just one type of MBM.
The 8x16 MBM itself will come fully licensed

The max Digital Stations on a BCM50 is 44
The Max CO trunk ports would be 20 (4 on board, and 8 on each of (2) MBM's)

You want to be careful when planning your MBM's because the BCM50 can only take (2)

By installing two DSM-32 modules in the two expansion cabinets, you can essentially have 76 digital stations and 4 analog trunks. Using this configuration, you can also use IP trunks to another BCM50 that has two PRI's (46 channels) in two expansion cabinets. Makes sense.. Don't have documentation on the limitation of IP trunks on the BCM50.

Pretty stout if you think about it, but would be cheaper with a BCM450 providing the same thing on one cabinet.
