The IT guys gave me a ip address to manage a bcm 50 remotely from home. They opened up port 80 for element manager access but it does not work. What is the correct port for element manager.

Not sure, but it's definitely not 80. That might get you to the login screen to download apps, etc, but won't let you run Element Manager.

I'm always leary of putting a phone system on the Internet. I don't like leaving bait piles for people. It would be more secure if you used a VPN to access it from home.

They gave me a public address and they said that they maped it to the BCM 50 private address but when I connect to it I always get the BCM screen that let you download apps etc.

From what I can see with a sniffer, looks like 5989 is the port used by Element Manager.

Can you assign 2 digit DN to a new BCM 200 I only get an option for 3 and above.

I am a new guy to the forum. Has anyone had intermittent failure on Off-Premise Notification on the BCM? The customer is running 3.6. OPN is used alot and works most of the time but intermittently stops working.
