Hi to all.
I need your help to the right choice about Nortel BCM50.
Does anyone experience about BCM50 & wifi phone 6140 ? Which release work better with this phones (> r 3.0) ? Need other Nortel appliance to work, except WiFi Access Point ?

thanks in advance.
/m.

The 6120/6140 are supported on BCM 50. You need a WLAN infrastructure which supports QoS - either WMM or SVP. If using SVP, then you also need a 2245 IP Telephony Manager. Have a look at the Spectralink VIEW certification ( for assistance in configuring the WLAN infrastructure. In those guides, use the configurations for the Spectralink 8020/8030 which are equivalent to the 6120/6140.

The current generation of 6120/6140 come loaded with UNIStim software (for BCM) but can also be loaded with H.323 software so they can be re-used on an IP Office system.

Thank you for the quick reply.
Can you send me more info about BCM50 release version to be used with 6120/6140 wifi phone ? I'm read about rel. 3.0 or superior...

6120/6140 were originally introduced with BCM 50 3.0, BCM 200/400 4.0, and BCM 450 1.0.
