Hi,

No one answered my previous question, so I want to ask it again.. and add a bit more to it aswell.

I'm trying to get a 1210 IP Phone to prime to a line. Right now it's primed to I/C. Is there a way to do this??

Also, why can't I access the BCM programming from the phone?

I try F**266344 and I get access denied!

Thinking it's the same as trying from a 7208, I tried it from a 1220 - but I get the same error message.

How do you access system programming through the phone? Can you? or does it all have to be done through Element Manager?

AND, what softkeys can I program? In Element Manager all I see are the buttons labeled Services and Conference. What about the other 4 buttons under the LCD screen? One lets me access Features, but the other 3 are blank. Can I assign stuff to them???

Thanks!

Guy

You can only prime a telephone to lines that are assigned to it. You can program from a set using **config. Is there another set that's still in program mode? Are you retrieving data using element manager at the same time as you're trying to login to a phone? You can't use them simultaneously. The 4 softkeys under the screen are not programmable.

Is the 1210 a two line phone? 2 line phone is required for telset programming.

So I can't be in Element Manager and try to access programming at the same time? Ok... I just tried that, but I still get Access Denied from a 1210 (1 line phone) and a 1220 (2 line phone)

The phones have a line assigned to them in Element Manager. I still cannot get them to Prime to line... only I/C.

And the 4 softeys aren't programmable... at all?? all I can get is the Feature button? I can't put a Mailbox button or anything else?

Also, I've seen stuff like F9*8 giving access to stuff in the phone... what other feature codes are there for this stuff??

Is there a way to access info in the phone through a Web GUI interface? I tried, but I couldn't get in... I know other IP phones have that capability.

Thanks!

Guy

Thanks guys...

A 1210 operates like a analog or a T7100. It always defaults to intercom. Softkeys are what they are, you can not change them. Programming through telset can be done on the following list of sets only.

M7310
T7316
T7316E
M7324
i2004
1140E
1230
i2050

Thanks dwpoole...

1 question... how do you recommend I go about getting an outside line?

I set up each line in their own pool, then I added a routing code for each pool...

so for phone #1, they dial 61 and get their external line
phone #2 dials 62 to get theirs.. etc

Is there a better / easier way to do this?

Guy

Ha!

I just figured something out!

If I change the Prime Line to my Line:xxx, I can program my Services button as External autodial, use prime line, and don't put any digits... I get my external line!

Guess that's what I have to do.. at least I don't have to key in 63 to get an external line...

:)

I just wish you could prime to an external line right away... grrr...

Try this, set prime to I/C. Under the Preferences tab, set the Hotline to external, use Line:XXX dialout a P. This will make the set grab the line, insert a pause and provide external dialtone. It is important to note that when you do this, you have pretty much made this phone incapable of dialing an internal call. You could use voice call to make a internal call or a button with an internal autodial, but those are the only ways you could call another extension.
