Having voice quality issues between a BCM50 1.0 and a BCM400 4.0. I don't own the network, I'm reliant upon their IT vendor, says he has DSCP set up. All Cisco gear. Dell layer 2 switches. No IP sets just trunks. using G711 on a T1, the first call sounds great, second is really poor voice quality. Choppiness no echo (internal calls only at this point). I've set an IP filter statement on the BCM400 side to tag the voice packets with DSCP but I can't find that option on the BCM50 side. Is it configurable on the BCM50? Does it support ip filter/DSCP?

Try G727

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I tried G729 with the same results, first call is great, second call bites...didn't go to G723. We are guaranteed 75% of the bandwidth so even at 384k it can't be overloading the circuit. They want centralized VMS so G711 is the only option at this point.
