Hi All,
We have installed only a few BCM 450s so far and have not yet used an FEM.
We have a customer with a fully expanded MICS, including a DTI card, who would like to migrate to a BCM 450 Rel. 5.0.
Page 34 of the BCM 450 Rel. 1.0 Installation-Devices manual states the following:
"Clock source... ISDN interfaces must synchronize clocking with the ISDN network and any ISDN terminal equipment connected to the network...
Clock synchronization is supported by the DTM, BRI module, and FEM."
The Task Based Guides for the BCM 450 Rel. 5.0 (p. 21 of the Installation, Hardware, MBMs) mention the configurability of only BRI cards.
"Configuring the Fibre Expansion Module
The Fibre Expansion Module (FEM) has a slightly different – but not inconsistent – configuration method.
Up to 6 Norstar Expansion Modules can be connected to the BCM450 via the FEM.
Each Norstar Expansion Module will need to be configured individually in Telephony Resources...
The available Configured Device types for the Norstar Expansion Modules within Telephony Resources are as follows:
Norstar TM (Trunk Module) – Norstar Global Line Module containing Analog or BRI cards"
So, can I use an FEM in the main cabinet of a BCM 450 Rel. 5.0 to connect a Fiber Trunk Module containing a Norstar DTI card to support a PRI circuit?
Thanks in advance for any help.
