Hi ,

We have been having ongoing issues with a PRI and Allstream ( Telco ) says all is good on there end.
Here are the alarms I've been getting:
75 Digital trunking clock in free run
44 Core telephony - Remote alarm indication long term alarm threshold has been exceeded on the DTM
372 Core telephony - Clocking on the Digital trunk media bay module has changed sources
42 Core Telephony - Loss of frame long term alarm threshold has been exceeded on the DTM

This morning i tried to change the DTM as a precaution so the telco could stop blaming us but when i put the new DTM in the system would not boot.
We finally had to put the old one back in cause we were on a time constraint since the client was onpening up.
I'm going to try and change it next week again at night when we have more time to play around because the failled attempt to change the DTM this morning may have just been cause we were on a time constaint and didnt give the system enough poweroff time or time to boot up.

So would the fisrt issue be more of a telco one, and any thoughts on why the system wouldn't boot with the new DTM
Anyways any thoughts on this hole issue would be appreciated.

Thanks!

When there is a pissing contest on a t1/pri and YOU dont have a tberd, YOU get pissed on

Pretty much retired from telecom and now grow and sell perennials from April-November and Ski from Nov-April

Allstream uses Nortel DMS100's in their CO so you first need to verify that you are set up for DMS100 (NI-1 protocol) and that your clocking is set to Primary External.

These days pretty much everyone sets up as ESF and B8ZS so make sure no one changed those settings. Outside of that, if your interface cable has been changed and you've trid another DTM, then it's highly likely that it is the carrier so insist that they come out and change the interface card they have on site. Wish I had 10 bucks for every time a carrier insisted it was the PBX!

You could get a BERT tester and check it all. but if they don't believe you when you call them, why would they take your word that you used a tester? Or just tell them you did and that the problem is with their equipment.
