BCM 450 Media bay enabling

Hello ,

I have a BCM 450 and i try too put DSM16 and DTM in the main unit .
I have already put it in the BCM on the place 1 and 2 and configure it .
But when i try too enabled it , nothings work .
DSM 16 and DTM stay on status enabling !

What can i do ?

A DSM needs a telephone attached to show enabled.

yes a there is a 7100 on dsm 16 and i dont touch the dips .
I also try to reboot bcm but nothings happen .

Do you have the DSM module in the bottom slot in the BCM?

yes the DSM 16 is already install . For the DTM Pri he is now enabled i change all the dips switch to 1 .
Now DTM Pri work , but not the DSM .

I think its possible that s due to the keycode .
In BCM 50 there is one keycode for a digital station but not in BCM 450 .
It s probably that .

I do not believe it is a keycode issue.

You did not answer whether the DSM is located in the bottom slot on the unit.

yes the DSM is located in the slot Main 2

Try putting it in Main 1.

The documentation advises that Main 1 is set as DSM module

put the DSM in main 1 and move the DTM to another slot.

i know it should work the way you have it configured but you never know.

have you applied any and all patches?

have u tried a different DSM? Are the dips in default?

i have only one DSM :s the dips are in default ( all up )
i change the DSM on main unit 1 but the problem still the same . enabling ...

After setting the BUS as a DSM and enabling it, you must CONFIGURE it to assign it an extension range. Totally different than the BCM400, as the new BCM450 only reserves some DNs for Advanced Applications.

I take it these are 16+ cards and not the old 16 port card used in the bcm1000. the old one does not work.

Set media bay 1 to dtm16 and congigure for 16 extns 221-216
Set media bay 2 to DTMpri and configure for lines

Set all switches to on on both cards.

NO KEYCODE is required same as bcm 400 systems for extns to work.

SWAP cards around to see if its a bay problem or card problem..

IT is possible the card is faulty,
The only way to prove it is to replace it with a good working one

i try too swap to a another main unit but nothings change .
The dips are all on . it will be a card problems .
I have already configure it .
I hope Nortel France have a DSM16 in stock .
Do you now if the DSM 16 is the same for BCM 450 and BCM 50 ?
