I recently install a 450 5.0. I continue getting fan1 alarm. I replaced the fan, which didn't resolve the alarm. I've watched the fan when the alarm comes on and it appeares to working fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am including information from a case I opened last year. I was getting the same alarms and Nortel fessed up to shipping the wrong fans. Please read below:

We are currently experiencing an issue with the fans that are shipped from Nortel and included in the BCM450 Redundancy upgrade package. This package is actually shipping with BCM400 fans, these fans are not compatible with the BCM 450 Hardware.
Please confirm that this if you are having a reduncdancy kit that came with the BCM 450.
If yes, please provide me the part numbers of the reduncdancy and the 450.

I just seen a patch for this problem. They have increased the time before the fan brings up a alarm. I was checking on a 32+ red led issue that I have had with the last two BCM 450 that I installed.

do you know where i can download the patch from?
i am still working with the networking section for a site setup for the bcm. they are holding back to make sure the system is working properly and not causing system slowdown with all the critical alarms. i now get at least 10 in a 24 hour period.
