We just installed a BCM 400 with version 3.7 software. There are a few issues that need to be resolved. The BCM has VOIP trunks to a CSE1000 with 4.5 software. We can use 4 digits with the appropriate destination code to dial our headquarters and other offices with H.323 trunking. We have been unsuccessful in having 9 point to the VOIP trunk and have calls go to Headquarters and then out our PRI. Someone in the field office calling an extension in the field office passes the name for the callerID. When they call an extension in DC over the VOIP trunk the name does not show up. BCM with 3.6 in our Dallas office works fine--what are we missing. Finally for 2 of the DNs, when a call is made from the DN over the VOIP trunk there is no spoken communication. When the extension is called, it is fine.
Thanks,

To make the name work over the IP trunks, make sure you have configured a business name, PNI, and OLI on each set.

To make the "9" go to the IP trunks, build a route configured as public, point it to the line pool your IP trunks are in, absorb nothing (main office will need the "9"), change your public DN prefix so "9" whatever has the correct number of digits, put "9" in your VOIP routing table (where you do this depends on whether you use a gatekeeper or are going direct).

That should get you pretty close.

For your 3.6 system, check codec/payload sizes. Make sure they are correct.

I have checked all the names and things I can think of but still no callerID name from the remote site. I am comparing the system that is not working with the one that is. I have not seen any obvious difference that should matter. We have three BCMs and 1 is working as it should and 2 are not.

I have checked the keycodes and none of the systems has a specific MCDN keycode listed, however the BCM in Dallas is functioning properly and the others are not and the keycodes are similar. MCDN does show up in the configuration in Telephony services for all locations. The CSE 1000 phone user name is being transmitted to the BCM and the name shows up properly but not the other way. One other factor is that when I call Dallas, the name of the person I am calling does show on my phone but not for the other offices.
Thanks,
Larry

business name, PNI, and OLI on each set.

What and where is PNI?????

PNI=Private Network Identifier

It can be found under services, telephony services, general settings, dialing plan, private network.

Is your node type set as H323 or SL1/CSE?

The BCMs are H.323 nodes. They all go into a CSE1000 as the Gatekeeper. The nodes are Gatekeeper resolved. The PNI for all the BCMs is set for 1. Since I have licenses for VOIP trunks then I have the MCDN license that I need.
Appreciate the suggestions.

OK--finally got the problem resolved. The item missing was the Business name under Telephony services>general. the Business name was just left blank. By putting in a name it corrected the problem.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
