BCM 400 Restrictions not working

Have had troubles with hacks. Trying to restrict international calls on BCM 400. Going in to system programming, lines, restriction filters, and added about 7 restrictions to filter 03. Everything seems right, however when I go to test and put in a restricted code, it allows the call to go through. I go back in to check the programming and all the restrictions are still assigned. Restriction filter 03 is properly assigned to all sets and all lines, however it is not restricting. Am I missing something?

I like to build my own such as filter 10

Filter 10 - restrict as need i.e. 0 (oversea's)


Go to sets, restrictions and assign filter 10
or
Go to Lines and restrict them instead, make sure its the right lines.
If you restrict lines then you force those allowed to use a COS password now.

Note that your real issue is most likely a mailbox is allowed Outbound Transfer to their Cell and they have a weak password on their mailbox, the hacker went into the mailbox and changed the cell # to another number over sea's.
Or the didn't have it setup but allowed.
Disallow by changing class of service for that mailbox or change or edit each COS as need.

You didn't use the access code as part of the restricted number did you?

No, I've just restricted international calls like 011##... Regardless, the system does not seem to be recognizing it, even though it is saving the data.

It has to be the acess code (9) and 011 so the restriction would be 9011.

I would also check the outdial on mailboxes. Turn it off.

I am a technician, disregard the title next to my username. Cook, Outdial on mailboxes is off, the only thing left is restricting international calling. I'm not sure using access code 9 will be of much effect, they don't need to use an access code to dial out regularly. Would you care to elaborate before I head out to the customer to try that one?

If you dial Intercom 9 to get out then you should restrict 9 plus the number.

If you restrict lines instead of the sets then restrict just the number.

If you built your own filter and told a set to use that filter then add or remove the access code and try it.

Don't forget to add exceptions like 1800's if restricting 1

cook, the restriction picks up after the acces code. Access code (9) does not need to be part of the restriction
