Ok first question is what ports do I need to open up to allow full remote access to the BCM via Element Manager?

Next is the real issue. I have a customer that has a 400 that was lightning damaged. I picked up another same release 3.7 BCM 400 and can get in through the serial port. Even though I can't boot the damaged BCM400 I still have a sheet with all the keycodes on it but they won't work with the different SysID I was told. Who should I contact to see if they will migrate the keycodes over to the new system? I supposed I would have to prove that the old system is rendered useless?

For the keycodes you need a Nortel partner regenerate the keys from the bad unit to the new and reenter them but the old unit or MCS card needs to be returned or Nortel will charge for the codes. For the EM is this dial up or What?

No its T1 but I am starting on the install tomorrow and just want to make sure everything is good. Is there a websiter for the recommended Nortel partner you are referencing?

Nortel.com and search partners, then you would find one near you area.

Maybe the Hard Drive is just cooked. you could try to replace that 1st in the lightning one.

if that doesn't work

You could try pulling out the old MSC Card and install it into the new/used unit you purchased.

It's only dialtone-VZ

VZtech, I tried just the hard drive but not anything else. Its never starts the HD in the boot sequence and I can't get into it from serial port. I'll try the MSC card, maybe I can get lucky...
