Our BCM 400 power supply died. We change the power supply with a PC ATX power supply. After booting the BCM, none of the extension came on. All of the extension cards are up except for the combo card. There are no light on this card. What may be the cause of this problem.

Take out the combo card and reboot to see if the extns work.

We tried that and the extension did become active. Could it be the OS corruption.

Sorry i dont understand.

Are the other extns on the system working.

if they are then the combo card is faulty.

Make sure you powered up the media bay that has that card in it, maybe you didn't have enough connectors on your power supply.

yes all of the extension are down. I can connect to this BCM through the web gui but not through element manager.

this is the error that I am getting when using element manager

Detector 'BCMDetector' cannot determine the device type for 10.a.b.c

You can't access the systen through EM because it is not up and running. Only once it finishes booting can EM connect. Nor will the phones work until the booting is finished. It sounds to me like the power supply you bought (a PC supply) is not compatible. Get a true BCM supply.

On the left side off the system there are 7 LEDs.
The first one is power
The second one is hard drive
The third one is The msc.

Are the other LEDs flashing at a constant rate.
If so then the hard drive has failed.

If they are steady then the system power supply may need changed
Use a bcm power unit..nothing to powerfull as these don't work

You can also carry out some basic tests via the serial port at 9600 baud. The 9 way RS232 is located on the front of the BCM 400 unit.
