My customer has a BCM 400 with 4 availale analog ports. The IT guys are proposing a 4 port fax server and they need an identifying DTMF signal for the number dialed so they cane route the faxes to the proper Email. This is a PRI so target lines are beening used. Please any help woild be greaty appreciated.

My question is the fax server needs an indentifing digit or something so they can biuld a routing table by what number is called. They want to point 20 fax lines that are POTS to the PRI through 4 analog ports I know a diital set can see the calling number and what target line it comes in on I need at least the target line number to pass to the fax server so it can be routed to the correct dept.

Don't think it's possible. That's what the build in Fax Server is for.

I know what a Fax server does, but when you point 20 fax lines to a PRI that ring on a 4 port fax server the calling party is answerd by 1 of the 4 server ports which are the 4 analog stations built in a hunt group. Problem being which number did the calling party dial so the fax server can route to the department in which it was meant to go to, we are not getting any ID information that we see in the fax server to help route the call.

The BCM product will not store the incoming digits from the carrier and forward them to the Fax Server connected to analog station ports.
