Hi all

BCM 400,3.0 status lights 3 to 8 blinking (green) and AA and voice mail not working. Also can not log into Unified manager and call pilot manager.

Vendor says need to upgrade to 4.0 but if I can not log in how would I upgrade

Thanks

Couple things come to mind. Could be a bad hard drive. Could also be a failed base function tray, though I'd suspect that would have failed by now. I'd shut down the system and pull the base function tray out. Looks around the CPU for green capacitors that may be leaking or have some type of crust on top of them.

I'd question your vendor if they didn't suggest the above items. Yes, 3.0 is unsupported and it's a good idea to upgrade the system, but upgrading won't fix your immediate situation.

Definitely sounds like a base function tray. If those capacitors are green and bulging or leaking that is more than likely your problem. BIV is right though an upgrade wont solve your problem.

The Caps should be Blue, if there green you only have untill 12/31/2007 to get it replaced by Nortel for Free.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Thanks Guys

I will have to check out those Caps

OK Guys

A quick update.... the caps were green my provider refused to replace for free. Purchased a new BFT (from a different vendor)and install yesterday, worked and now hopefully upgrading the software

Nortel will replace them for free until 12/31/07.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

They will only replace them via your vendor though. Your vendor may have charged you for the installation process, but if they quoted for the chassis, then find a new one.
