RED LED ON POWER SLOT ON MAIN TREY OF BCM 400 4.0 ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCES WITH THIS TYPE OF SITUATION, IM GUESSING SOMETHING IS WRONG ?

This indicates there is an alarm on the system on v4.0

Check the alarms under Administration

I was thinking the same thing when I fired up mu first 4.0

as everyone stated its not the power its an alarm
in Element manager> Administration> alarms>

you can view the alarms, clear the alarms in the buffer page and front panel

It's only dialtone-VZ

Power cycling the system will clear the alarm, but wouldn't it be nice to know what's causing the issue? Might as well put a piece of black tape over the light then.

The alarm settings can be adjusted to determine severity, i.e which alarms turn on the light, etc if so desired.

THANKS FOR ALL THE TIPS , THE RED LIGHT IS ACTUALLY A VERY SENSITIVE ALARM TO SENSITIVE FOR ME, EVERYTIME I UNPLUGGED A DIGITAL SET THE RED LIGHT CAME BACK ON, I THOUGHT IT WAS A PROBLEM, GUESS I WAS WRONG. IM TIRED OF RESETTING THESE ALARMS,IM ALSO TIRED OF LOADING PATCHES CANT WAIT FOR THE DAY A NEW RELEASE COMES OUT AND NO PATCHES, ILL PROBABLY HIT LOTTO BEFORE THAT HAPPENS

I am currently in the process of installing BCM 400 rel 4.0, actually assisting of install, and am noticing same thing...red light (power) keeps coming on intermittantly. In checking documentation it seems to indicate a problem with one of the ps. I am wondering now if maybe by having no phones attached to system and alarm is generated to X221 maybe that also triggers the red light.
