BCM 400 4.0 getting errors

I recently updated a BCM400 4.0 to the latest patches to resolve an issue doing backups to a USB. The BCM does not recognize the USB after you pull it out and out it back in. After I updated the BCM with the latest patches... it caused more issues.... now when you goto the backup / restore area... you get an error something about a transfer agent.... also... the scheduled tab has disapeard as well..

I even uninstalled element manager and re-downloaded from BCM, my java is version 5, and im not using IE 7

any ideas???/
 
I have had a similar problem. It is with the Software Management patch. There is a new Software Management patch that fixes the issue. The workaround is to remove the patch, delete your scheduled backup, reinstall the patch and then reprogram your scheduled backup. This should fix the problem.

My problem was diagnosed by Nortel. I actually did alot of testing to verify the problem. It was definitely the Software Management patch that created the issue. The way the patches affect your system depends on many things. I find that someone will have a problem with a particular patch and I have never seen the problem. Alot depends on the applications that are running and the setup of the system.
