Was this ever resolved in anyway so that they can receive and play messages on a BB?

I told the client that the reason you could not is because the email attachment is a .vbk file which the blackberry cannot play, only a PC with Call Pilot Player.

If it is possible then what minimum BCM release is required and what needs to be done?.

Thanks

You will need to upgrade your 400 to a 450. The current 450 upgrade comes with all three BCM450 software releases on it but go with 6.

Also my understanding is as of March of next year Avaya will no longer sell any licensing for the 400 so you better upgrade before that happens.

You can do this with a 400 with the latest patch updates, BUT, the user's Unified messaging mailbox must be opened for this to work, for 2 obvious reasons:

The BCM400 is not an email server, so Outlook must be opened to receive the mail and transmit it to the BlackBerry and the other you hit on the head, the format.

Ok thanks guys, next question....Windows 7?
I am afraid they may have upgraded their PC's, I am pretty sure it's not supported but will it work or a work around?

Thanks

i just looked into this for one of my customers and you also need to upgrade to a 450 to use unified messaging with windows 7

Even on a 450 if you are going to use desktop applications I would avoid Windows 7.

The documentation says for example that LAN CTE will work with Windows 7 32/64. It does not. It is frustrating.

InTouch does not work with Outlook 2010 in any operating system. If you want to use InTouch stick with Outlook 2007. But in my experience InTouch makes Outlook very slow and causes lock ups.

UM does not with my Windows 7/64 machine with Outlook 2010 but it does work with my Windows XP machine with Outlook 2010.

The days of using any desktop apps with a BCM are very close to coming to an end I suspect.

Either way I would upgrade the BCM to a current release BCM450 (or just replace it with something else).
