We just got a base BCM 4.0 (no keycodes or MBM's). I connected my laptop to the console port to monitor. Normally a BCM boots up in about 15-20 minutes. I have had this up for over 2 hours and it is still not up all the way allthough it is doing somthing as i can watch via hyperterminal. One thig i did note is that it failed the AUTOCOREUPLOADER. Im not sure 4exactly what this is but sounds like it has somthing to do with loading from the HDD. If anyone has any knowledge of the first boot time and this AUTOCOREUPLOADER i would appreciate the input.

I beleive that is when the hard drive is comunicating with the MSC card. I have had that fail before, have you cycled the power and tried again, I would also reseat the MSC card, and PEC cards on it.

If you boot it up with a keyboard mouse and monitor etc, then you should see the Linux power up sequence up to a point where the BCM software takes over.

Check all your connections.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Couple of things I would check are if the CAPS on the Base Function Tray are GREEN if they are you need to replace the BFT.

or if not then pull the MSC card and re-install it into the BFT.

then reboot

Hi all. After letting the unit run all night it finally loaded. I could access via element mgr. I rebooted and did a shutdown a couple times and it booted in the normal time frame. It had to have something to do with the AUTOCOREUPLOAD failed that i saw. I didnt see again. It appears to be functioning fine. Is till would like to know more about that though. Thnaks for the input.
