To start the VNC service
Login to unified manager
Diagnostics=>Service Manager=>winvnc is the last listed service, start the service in unified manager and use the freeware in giljo's post.
Tried this out on our inhouse demo the other day. works great! Thanks Giljo! Some interesting stuff on the desktop that may prove useful for troubleshooting.
Also in order to use my new password I had to stop and restart the winvnc service.
Great stuff Giljo! I too had to had to stop and restart the winvnc service. I tried this on a 200 ver.3.0 and now I will be trying it on an Enterprise Edge 1000 that has been upgraded to 3.6. This is the type of great tech stuff you can only get here.

Try starting, stopping, and restarting the VNC service.
Vncpwd(space)/v:xxxxxx(space)/h:ipaddress(space)/u:workgroup
(no space)\ee_admin(space/p:eedge
I had problems with the syntax and found that if you waited for the vnc service and retried several time it always works. Make sure that you use the correct password complexity: Example: TeiGR7
Good luck.
Where do I get this freeware"vncpwd112.exe"??? I 'm having a problem with a modem not working on a 3.6 hardrive thats in a BCM 1000. I believe it needs a new driver. The modem is an original modem that belonged in a BCM 1000 , however the hard drive is a fresh 3.6 hard drive for a BCM 400. Everything seems to work great except for the modem. I think the drive has the driver for whatever type of modem that appears in a BCM 400. Do you think I'll be able to possibly remedy this modem issue through the VNC access?? Is the freeware something I have to download from somewhere else?? Or is it on the BCM now ?? I tried a "Google" search for it with 2 hits in I think a foreign(I could not read it) website with the mention of the verbage , but no chance to download.. Can you direct me to where I can find it?? THank you in advance for all your help and your previous posts on the subject matter. HelplessBCM
If you are not on maintenance and you are either brave or foolish you can put a floppy, a cd drive, and more on a BCM in order to try whatever you like.
acewarlock
The VNC allows you to reach the NT desktop by appending a colon 5800 to the BCMs IP address. I have looked but I haven't changed anything because any system worth accessing is worth not breaking.
Hope this helps.
If you find any good "toys" let me know. I guess I will need to learn Linux now with the 50 coming out.
Thanks for the star.
