I have a customer who is getting phantom ringing. Short ring burst. Nothing showing on the display. Vmail is not answering. Its very weird.

Are there by chance any lines that are configured to be answered by auto attendant at 0 rings that are also assigned to that set?

If a line is set to ring there and it has been forwarded external to the system, that would do it too.

You could run BCM Monitor and call all your telco lines until you isolate the problem.

You could also check all your ring groups, hunt groups, and Answer DNs.

Check Call Pilot Lines Admin and make note of all lines that have an AA table assigned and whether it's assigned for 0 rings or whatever.

You should be able to isolate if you try all those steps.

It would be interesting to hear what the problem turned out to be.
