I am studing for BCM 3.0 test. I have no idea what to expect or if there is any practice test out there. Any help would be great. I have already passed VoIP part just need help on BCM.

Yes I am studying for Support Specialist, I already passed the VoIP test and now need to complete BCM 3.0. I am a data guy so this is my first with voice topics, what is test like? What should I focus on?

have you worked / are you working on a bcm?
if you have a bcm to play with ..the test is a piece of cake

bunch of questions were about upgrades and hardware settings
its been a while ...i got my certifcate in Jan 2003 ... let me see if i have soem info that i can dig up ...

its more than likely i dont have any ...but let me look and confirm

all the best for ur test

I have a bcm 1000e/1000, never touched it yet. I have a month to pass test. Where the questions pretty broad or were they very detailed? Thanks for all of your help.

I took the test a couple months ago. the bcm part was waaaay easier than the voip. There was a lot of general knowledge questions, a lot more general than what is described in Nortel's description of the exam

If the VoIP test was easy for You, the BCM portion will not be any problem. The prior comments were accurate. Kind of study the switch settings.

Is it safe to assume that there aren't a lot of detailed config questions?

do u mean like what will be the configuration for 80 users 2 T1s ... no. there were no questions like that inthe support specialist exam ... those were in the design exam though

Do they ask you specific model IP phones, or any exact DSP or PEC questions or do you just have to know what they mean?

there were questions about minimum PEC/ DSP requirements for the software release ...
about the DSP split
about DHCP server and relay options ...

Thanks for all your help, if there is anything you think I should focus on feel free to let me know. Thanks again.

Are there a lot of detailed Programming questions, or is it just overview?

Fairly detailed config questions etc...
It's just a practice test to give you an idea on what to study for.
Most sales questions can be answered using the current BCM handbook.
Technical questions can be answered using the installation documentation.
Use the search tool in Acrobat reader to search the documentation CD to pass the test quickly.
Click on search in acrobat add index and locate the index.pdx file in the NA English folder on the CD.

I'm sorry you lost me, are you talking about Boson tests? I was asking if there were a lot of detailed Programming questions on test, or is it just overview?

probably aragon is talking abt the boson test ... the nortel test is a closed book test ... you are not even supposed to take your own pen/ pencil

Is there a lot of detailed Programming questions on test, or is it just overview?

Correct the Boson test is a practice test.
It counts for nothing.
They had a free demo a while back.
But it would give you an overall feel for the real exam.
