BCM 200 not releasing trunks -- sometimes 2

We have a branch office that runs a BCM 200. About once a week the service goes down at this site and the box needs rebooting.

Last week voicemail wouldn't work and the vendor said he thought the trunks (8) were not releasing after being used. He went in and stop/start'd the H323 service and things began to work.

Last night we maxxed out the 8 trunks and VM did not work. This time the VM came back after the connections were terminated without having to do the H323 dance.

Is this a bug that anyone else has run across?
 
Sounds to me like you have resource issues on the DSPs or voice channels.

What version of BCM?

Have you IP phones?

Is there a way that I can stat the BCM and see the utilization in real time, and/or turn on some type of event logging to monitor how many trunks are in use?

I was in error, the phones are TDM.

There are no patches listed as being applied.
 
TDM is a T1

DSM are Phones

You can download the BCM Monitor software from the BCM First page, under install clients. on lower left Admin Tools select BCM Monitor. click download. you can use this to see real time usage. You need admin rights to install this on your computer.
 
Thanks guys! The BCM Monitor is just what we needed. The vendor has applied some patches and has given us a quote on adding +4 and +8 trunks. Looks like we'll probably go with +4 and see how that works now that we can monitor it in real time.
