My BCM 200 is generating busy signals when you try and dial out or when someone calls into the office. I confirmed with our provider that it is not a line problem. The said that it appears our system is resetting itself every three to four minutes.

In going into the diagnostics, I see that the code on the Hard Drive says "flash" and the green light flashes. All other diagnostic items are solid green.

I assume that I have a hard drive failure, but what are my options?

Busy signals would not be caused by a Hard Drive Failure. If you are using a PRI or analog trunks and digital sets, you could remove the Hard Drive entirely from the unit and it would provide basic dialtone and digital set features.

Please provide more specifics about the makeup of your BCM and we can help you to troubleshoot.

The flashing green HD light is just like the Flashing light on your PC,it shows that the HD is being used.

What type of Mods do you have in the system? you only have 2

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

We have a BCM 200 Release 3.7 Build 2.4f. It is running through 12 channels off a split T1 from TelePacific.

I am not sure what info you need exactly, but here is what I see when I login through Telnet:

Motherboard: SH815
PCI Cards: MSC Empty Modem LAN LAN
MSC Version 30DiH08

In additional discussions with our provider, it looks like the Adtran unit that controls our digital trunk needs to be replaced.

I sure learned a whole lot more about the BCM system through this though. Thanks for the help!

This would be the same provider who originally told you that the BCM was resetting itself.

A thought: if you suspect a line problem rather than an equipment problem (because you've shot troubles on your end), if your provider tells you "everything is fine on our end", ask them how they can be so sure if nobody ever showed up to site?

You have one piece of equipment and the provider has hundreds. What are the chances that if it looks like a provider duck, smells like a provider duck, acts like a provider duck and yells "AFLAC!!" when stepped on, that it's your equipment?
