Hey there I got into the BCM game at 3.6. I recently came accross a 1000 and cannot get into programming. I get to the user name and password but it says enterprise whatever not ready. I can telnet into the 1000 but it will not let me see the MSC card SYS ID or update the profile. The MSC card looks brand new. Any Ideas"??

ok.. Did a core upload on the MSC and I can now log in. But I cant launch voicemail. As always thanks for the help.

Vmail won't work until the BCM is Setup and the Vmail is INI'ed

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I just image to 3.7 but now when I try to intialize the hardrive I get invalid BIOS version. I went to intels site and see a update. Could I just load there update? Maybe try to VNC into the BCM and load locally or is there a easier way.

When you do upgrades in order, it also upgrades the BIOS.

The original 1000 boxes were called Enterprise Edge's.
The voicemail had a Voice Mail Manager program that launched
& looked just like the Voice Mail on an old Norstar Voice Mail. The drive on this old box is probably not big enough to load 3.7 sofware on.

Did you image the 8GB drive or did you use a 20Gb drive????

I am using a FRU nortel hard drive out of another boc. it is 20.4 gigs. I also upgraded the memory to 256. Its just the BIOS problem now.

anybody have some input on taking a BCM 1000 strait from 2.5 to 3.7?

I did go from 2.5 to a 3.6 by replacing the HD, but I never got a BOIS error and the only thing I know that didn't work was the Modem until I when though the correct upgrade steps.

We upgraded several 1000's to 3.7 We just swapped out the hard Drives ourselves.

1. I would screen shot the database
2. Swap the drive with 3.7
3. Do the MSCORE upload for North american
4. Re enter the Key Codes.
5. Program from your screen shots.
6. And then finally patch the BCM

We did 10 of the 1000's like this last month without a problem. Most of the database stayed intact on the telephony side. We had to redo all IP and voicemail. Screen shots will save you alot of time. Each upgrade for us from start to finish was about 6 hours.

Hope this helps.

kgrant:
Have you tried calling the Modem's on them. the modem's on the 1000 and the 200/400 are different and use a different driver. as long as you don't need to use the modem, them it doesn't matter.

kgrant thanks for the response. Still no good. If i do a clean image and the press option 1 for a platform int. I will start the int. Then I get invalid bios contact support. Do you or somebody else have a 3.0 image disk set. Maybe I could load 3.0 then upgrade from there.

Thanks for the help

Tim

I have a 3.7 BIOS patch. I personally have never had to use it. I can send it to you if you provide me a way to send it to you. I believe we are not to post emails on this forum.

I do not know if it would help you in your issue but might be werth giving it a shot.
