Hi
When upgrading to SP9/SP10 as known the CAS cards are removed. However we have been told from our service provider that the amount of TMU boards should be increased as well.
If MD110 worked OK before SP9 upgrade regarding TMU performance , is there then any reason to add more TMU boards after the SP9/SP10 upgrade ?
If so , does this mean that the new generic REX extensions need more TMU capacity than in previous SP:s when having EL7 REX individuals ?

Thanks !

Well The TMU business doesn't have anything
to do with if You have CAS cards or not. It
is an entirely different issue altogether.

1. To be able to get a register when in
speech a mobile extension needs a key¨
code receiver to detect the 'attention'
key.
2. Each TMU contaions 4 key code receivers.

If You look at that equation You see that
there is a slight shortage of key code
receivers.
Before sp9 the way to overcome that shortage
was to sample each keycode receiver between
number of users. In short each user had
a let's say 200ms time slice every second.

The drawback with this approach is that
sometimes the system may appear slow and
non responsive since You may have to push
the key a long time before detection.

This approach has been changed so that a
key code receiver is now dedicated to it's
user.

I do beleive there is an improved TMU card
in the pipes for this purpose.
