I have a BayStack 5510 series switch. The switch appears to function correctly, on a flat private testing network with several hosts. To configure the switch for deployment, I attempted to connect to the console port using Hyperterminal. I am using the following settings:
- straight serial cable
- 9600 bits per second
- no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit
- no flow control
- auto-detect emulation type (have also tried VT100, ANSI)
I then press CTRL-Y, enter repeatedly....and get nothing.
Have also tried CTRL-C, etc.
I am perplexed since it was my understanding all Nortel switches used these settings. Am i doing something stupid wrong? Thanks.
