..2 questions to do with my lil 2 switch Baystack switch stack..

...first has to do with my lil 400-2FL MDA... its plugged in and the lights work when I plug the switch in.. I can see it in the hardware profiles but when I plug a fiber link into it the link light doesnt come on.. I was thinking that there was a lag time ... I donno.. or if I have to turn it on somewhere in the console.. I dont know

..I see ports 25/26 and they are enabled.. but once again.. plug them in .. no link light.. and I've tried 2 different 400-2FL MDA cards.. *shrug*

..ok second question.. I read somewhere that all the ports are auto sensing MDI-X ports.. but I plugged one in and it didnt catch it... once again I dont see anything in the console as to change the config of the port I want to be MDI-X... on the 450 there isnt a lil button to change over the port.. (I wish there was)..

..ok thats all for now.. tnx for the help as always ..

all the copper ports on a 450 are set to talk to end user devices, should you want to use them to talk to another hub/switch you need a crossover cable.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

What have you got connected at the end of your fiber link?

Have you checked the fiber patch lead is ok?

If you have the right connector try and loop the transmit and receive legs of the fiber patch lead together and the link light should come on.
