I am trying to find the last firmware for a Baystack 350T. I have a 16 port unit and the serial console just does not work. I have gone through everythread here and nothing works. As a dumb switch my baystack works fine but I want a vlan so I need in :) I was thinking about using bootP and reimaging the unit to see if that solves the problem. But I cant find an image any where. All the links here do not work any more. Anyone know where I can find one?

Or is there a way to disable the serial port that I may have to undo???

At some point in the life of the product, I believe the same code was used on the 350/410/450 switches. I don't recall what release that was though. I think it was the 4.0 release, but I don't have those documents handy anymore.

Anyways, if my theory is correct, you can download 450 software here. This site was posted a while back.

There were 2 Baystack 350 products, the 350T was the older one, it does not have standard VLANs. As I recall 3.02 was the last software version, released in June 2002. I do not currently have a valid Nortel user ID but if you do, it should still be on their site.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Hi,

Before you try upgrade make sure which 350 model you have in place. The latest release for the 350-12t/24t is still available on the Nortel site. This is the 4.4.0, which also supports the 410 and 450's. Software for the 350T/350F is discontinued on this site, you'll have to find another way to achieve these images.

If you want the software which is still available, let me know your ftp and I can send you them.

ccsonline,

I'm late to this party, and you may already know this, but you need to press CTRL-Y to get in to a Baystack switch through the console port.

FWIW,

Joe

Just to clarify, the 350Fs, and 350Ts do support 5 port based VLANs. We still have them up and running in our lab. We run:
FW:V1.01 SW:V3.0.1
Please note that jimbo is correct in that 3.02 was the last release of software for the this series of "older" 350s.
(v 4.x will not work for this series...only for 350-12 and 350-24)

Other note is to ensure your cable is straight through (not null modem) when serially consoling in.

I hope this is helpful.
