I've read everyone talking about how to reset the password on this switch, however it's not working.

Hardware and Firmware settings are

HW:RevA FW:V1.46 SW:v3.0.0.41 ISVN:0

I've tried the NetICs backdoor when you first power on...no luck. I just want to Factory Reset The Sucker!

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

If NetICs doesn't work you'll probably have to RMA the unit

If you have a maintenance contract with Nortel you can call them up and give them the MAC address of the switch. They have a little algorithm they run on the MAC which produces a back door password.

There's one other thing you can try if you have Device Manager, a config file, and happen to know the SNMP community names (a lot of people leave them at the default values - public/private). Download the config to the switch via JDM (Java Device Manager). There was a serious bug in older versions of code wherein downloaded configs would wipe the password out.

Good Luck...
