bay to cisco frame-relay 2

I am having trouble getting a bay router to talk to a cisco router on a frame relay network. Both routers are up and are showing updates fron the telco switch. But, i cannot ping either router from the other. I have set the encapsulation to IETF on the cisco, LMI is set to ANSI on both, and MTU size is set on the bay to 1518(per Nortel) so the Cisco will accept the packets.
No luck.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do.

I suppose MTU for CISCO is 1600 not 1518

The Cisco is defaulting to 1500 on the MTU size. The story is that Cisco doesn't count the header on the frames and Bay does. Bay normally defaults to 1600, but since it is trying to talk to a Cisco, you have to set the MTU to 1518, for a config that is mostly default. According to Nortel, I have everything correct. But, I still think it has something to do with the Bay config.

I put a Cisco in the location Taht i rtried to put the Bay and it came right up, so it isn't the line.

When you do a sho syn base on the Nortel what do you get? Is this in a lab or a live circuit?

I have the same problem, but the question is on frame relay and the IP classless activation on Cisco Routes.
In this case the routers do not communicate in the same subnet.
If is the problem, i do not have answer(s).

This should be very simple. You have the frame-relay circuits in place.

Whats the DLCI to each side?

What is your WAN ip address ( 172.16.255.1 cisco 172.16.255.2 for the nortel with a 255.255.255.252 mask.
add a static route on the cisco 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.16.255.2 and on the nortel add a route back to the cisco 172.16.255.1.

you say that the circuits are up so your very close in cmp this application. Another thing you may try is to call for
provider and verify the provisioning of the circuit, make sure there not in a test mode ( NNI Mode ) Jeter@LasVegas.com

Depending on nortel configuration you may want to revisit IP settings on Nortel Router.

IP Global
Enable Default Route for Subnets

IP Rip
Listen/supply turned on
How about enabling default route listen?

I'm having the same problem. I have one nortel router 2430 with software RS 15.1, and I cannot get it ping a cisco router from the ISP. They say they already configured ietf encapsulation for frame relay, the mtu in my side is setup for
1500 (I think for small pings this shouldn't be a problem).

I saw the log in my router and is always having a message, cant extract DLCI from data packet. When I run the command:
show fr stats error
I get the last error equal to "illegat DLCI". The pvc with the dlci 100 is setup as dynamic, and when I configure it as a static I can't see the vc active.

So everything is up, serial interface with FR, and the IP interface also. But I can't ping the other end IP adsress
in ISP. We have a IP addresses with a 30 bits length mask.

Can you tell me how did you solve the problem.
