I have a handheld PC, Qtek 9100, which its battery has been all discharged. I have taken it to the shop and they said it has to be plugged in to recharge the battery and said it will take 2-3 days for it gets completely charged. However they managed to bring life into the battery somehow but it didnt take a long time (maximum 1 minute) before it shut down.
I was wondering how they have done it so next time the same happens I can bring back life in the battery and set it to recharge.

they may have tryed to referbish this batt, if it's ni-cad.

Check your charger/powersupply.
borrow one

8 Hrs charge is fine for a test on the battery.
is it giving you a charge indicater lamp.

There is no charge indicator lamp. I took it to a shop and they tested the battery and meant that it was totally empty and needs to recharge it for 2-3 days. They did something with the battery and I could start the windows mobile system but it went off after 1 minute.
I have set it to recharge for almost 2 days now but there is no sign of recharging.

According to the Qtek site the 9100 uses a lithium-ion polymer battery. If a lithium-ion battery ever becomes completely discharged it will be damaged forever and will never hold much charge again. Normally the device containing the battery has circuitry to switch itself off when the battery power drops below a certain minimum.

It sounds as though yours has become completely discharged somehow - you need to get the battery replaced.

I guess you are right the battery is dead, I have ordered a new one and hope it will start this time. Will bring the news later.
