Hi,

I'm using CR10 and CE10.

We have more than 100 reports in CE10 need to be tested in the UAT stage, the reports are currently pointing to DEV database . The administrator complained about that seems too much job and time consuming for him to update report database access information to point to UAT database one by one. My question is, is there any workaround for it, like customized csp or any 3rd-party products which can update all the reports database login info in CE at once.

Thanks in advance,

Ted

Thanks a lot, Chris.

That's exactly I'm looking for and it works perfect.

hi guy

There is another better solution for your working.
Go to "SET DATASOUCE LOCATION screen" of CE10

1.Give the same name of the table on property "Overridden Qualified Table Name"(default is empty),however operations should be to all tables of the report and sub-reports.

2.Ensure value FALSE of the property "Use DSN default properties" of YOUR Connection

Now, I think you can change programatically the DSN and execute the report without any other tools.

You may already be familar with our tool for Crystal Reports called ".rpt Inspector Professional Suite" -- as of Feb. 2005 we've released ".rpt Inspector Enterprise Suite" which is designed to Mass Edit + Manage reports, instances, and schedules in Crystal Enterprise.

So now you can open your reports directly from CE and it will automatically pull in all CE properties. Then using our "data source / database migration and conversion wizard" you can do batch Set Location / Convert Driver / Verify Database.

Plus a lot more like ability to modify your schedules (i.e. formats, destinations, database logon, parameters, etc.) instead of having to recreate them. And you can find, analyze, and manage failed / successful instances (i.e. create a new instance based on information in failed instance -- or modify some or all of that information). Plus all the edit features of .rpt Inspector for the Crystal Report side.
