hi guys, i am a novice trying to get ahead here with a 2003 cert. i am following along with the microsoft server 290 cert book and i have a few questions on the terminal server section.
this is what i can do so far. i can log into the domain server via remote and manage it and i can see that in the terminal server manager.
now i have loaded the the termal server software onto my server 2003 computer and i am trying to set up terminal services. since i can remotely admin it, i am wondering what other specific uses is ther for terminal services? for instance it says youcan run programs from a terminal services connection. what programs would you run? are they as simple as word or is for other more complex programs? can someone give me an example or examples.
can an xp client be used to access terminal server via remote access and if so why? what would they do? as admin?
my book has me connecting two 2003 servers via terminl server and not an xp client. but i have an xp client and what i am trying to understand is what exactly is this used for? it seems to me that i am remotely logging into the server.
again what am i trying to achieve with this in my two computer network?
what i am doing is trying to log into server1 from a client computer as a domain user. i set the user up to join the remote access group but i seem to get a message telling me that permisions aren't set correctly. exactly which ones i don't know at this moment because i am not at that computer. i know there are other permissions that can be set.
once iconnct to the server via terminal server what do isee? the desktop of the user i used to log in?
thanks.....
