I have two problems I was hoping to get help with. I'm trying to get only certain phones able to dial TAC's and make fac. test calls. Dial access is open on all trunk groups, and COR 1 has test calls denied, while 3 has it allowed. Dialling TAC's is possible from all phones; can I restrict COR 1 phones from dialling TAC's (I denied 80? and 81? in COR 1 since the TAC's are from 801 to 810). The second thing is I can dial the fac. test call number and the port address from any phone, but then get the error tone.

thank you,
Rob C

TAC permissions are administered in the trunk group which gives everyone access to them once they have been enabled.

FTC calls are administered in the COR. Create a new COR for yourself and turn on the FTC function and you will not get the error tone anymore.

If the trunk is a PRI, sometimes the FTC will not work, and U have to put a 'verify' button on your phone. Sometimes that doesn't work either.

Well, I set up a new COR (4) with the test calls allowed, and I am still unable to dial a facility test call from two different phones that both have the COR set to 4. I tried accessing some copper trunks dialling 502 (dial tone) 01a1402 and several other port numbers. If anyone can think of anything else I might be missing, I would appreciate it.

One other thing I found is that I can't dial the TAC on my phone. Dial Access is enabled on that trunk, and I can dial it from another phone.

thank you for any help,
Rob C.

hmmmm.... how do U dial a A on a phone? (01a1402)I assume U are dialing 01 for A?
Do U get busy, denial, or what when U try to dial the copper trunks?

Orypecos,

That may be where the problem is. I was dialling a 2 for the A, using the letters, and was getting there error tone. Now I've tried 1 and 01 for the A and I just get silence. Sometimes it disconnects also. How should you dial the port? We only have one cabinet.

thank you,
Rob C.

When dialing a port number, a = 1, b = 2, c = 3, etc.

Port 01a1402 = dial string 0111402.
