Hi there,

this is a very basic question.
Is it redundant to have a "Customer" dimension, which has attributes about the geographical region of customers and a seperate Dimension "Region".

Simply illustrated Like that:

Cosutomer dimension:
name
age group
city
state
country

Region dimension:
city
state
country

Yes, it is redundant unless you have a need for a separate one. For instance, if you have a customer shipping and billing address and they are in different cities, states, etc.
