Morning Chaps

Ok looking for some help. I'm missing something stupidly simple. I've got a summit5i for use at home, I use cisco and HP generally at work no problem.

I'm just trying to set the 5i to be a basic switch to start, But I just cant get it to route IP traffic! I've reset to factory I dunno I'm missing somethign stupid. Could someone give me a quick instruction set to configure all ports to talk to each other?

Obviously when set to factory it adds all ports to vlan id 1 "default" but it just doesn't seem to route traffic!

Help! its bursting my head lol

small update, I'm pretty sure actually there is something up with the switch! I can use the mgmt port all good just seems the main switch has issues passing data. Has anyone experienced this? I'm now hunting trying to find software so I can reload the firmware on it and give it one last try before scrap :(

Hi,

Can you post your current config (sh config)?

Hi :)

Thanks for the reply. I've pretty much given up and switched to a pair of cisco 3508's stuffed full of gbics, But I will dig it out and post up the config. It would be good if you could have a quicl look and check I've not gone mad lol.

Thanks again

Graeme

You HAVE to enable IP FORWARDING, at least globally:
enable ipforwarding

AND also you can enable/disable ip forwarding vlan xxx (per vlan on/off)

It is almost the same as "ip routing" on Cisco
With this, you will have now intervlan-routing.
(I did not see it enabled on your config)

saludos from Mexico!,
Ivan

Ivan thanks for the tip. Unfortunatly still no luck :( had to dig it out to test. Running a cisco 3550 coupled with a 3508 its rubish lol.

Any other thoughts would be much appreciated. Its just for my home network I suspect it maybe broken but I'd love to get it going just to get some experience on it.

Kind Reagrds

Graeme
